Krithia Road and the adjacent Achi Baba Nullah road were well known to the Royal Naval Division and Rupert Brooke’s friends in the Hood battalion. Krithia Road runs up from "V" Beach in the direction of Skew Bridge Cemetery where the Hood’s Commanding Officer, Colonel Quilter is buried.
